5/20/2023 0 Comments The Highland Duke by Amy JareckiIn the Scottish Regency era, circumstances could not have been more impossible. Why is this a Twist? It is because of him being a Duke and her being a Gypsy. There is instant chemistry between Geordie and Akira. By so doing, this is the only way he can keep them safe. The Scot refers to himself as Geordie, desperate to keep the fact that he is the Duke of Gordon a secret. In so doing, Akira is ever more determined to do anything she can to save his life. She wants to send for a doctor, but he insists that she remove it. She finds a Scot with a terrible injury, a musket ball in his thigh. Īkira Ayres has been a healer since the age of twelve. Despite all their differences, despite the danger-he will face death itself to make her his. But the longer he's with her, the harder it becomes to think of letting her go. The only way to keep the lass safe is to ensure she's by his side day and night. Geordie knows if Akira ever discovers he's the Duke of Gordon, both her life and his will be forfeit in a heartbeat. Yet she can never learn his true identity. Though Akira is as fierce and brave as any of her clansmen, even she's intimidated by the fearsome, brutally handsome Highlander who refuses to reveal his name. Even if it means fleeing with him across the Highlands to tend to his wounds while English redcoats are closing in. When Akira Ayres finds the brawny Scot with a musket ball in his thigh, the healer has no qualms about doing whatever it takes to save his life.

5/20/2023 0 Comments A thousand sons by graham mcneillThis may very well have been my saddest of books to finish just because all I wanted was more. It’s a longer book, but honestly I couldn’t get enough of it, I love the Thousand Sons and their adoration and fixation on acquiring knowledge and helping humanity ascend to its next level. I can’t assure you that your experience will be as endearing as mine, because this book is a great detailing of my (alternating between first and second) legion and Primarch. But Magnus has seen more than the betrayal of Horus – and the witnessed revelations will change the fate of his fallen Legion, and its primarch, forever. When the ill-fated primarch foresees the treachery of Warmaster Horus and warns the Emperor with the very powers he was forbidden to use, the Master of Mankind dispatches fellow primarch Leman Russ to attack Prospero itself. Magnus is sure that he knows better than the Emperor – but isn't that what caused Horus to fall as well?Ĭensured at the Council of Nikea for his flagrant use of sorcery, Magnus the Red and his Thousand Sons Legion retreat to their homeworld of Prospero to continue their use of the arcane arts in secret. One of the most tragic tales of the entire Horus Heresy unfolds as the Thousand Sons are brought low by their relentless quest for knowledge. Censured at the Council of Nikea for his flagrant use of sorcery, Magnus the Red and his Legion retreat to their homeworld to continue their use of the arcane arts in secret. 5/20/2023 0 Comments On dublin street book 2Pogotovo po š to je Kam odlu č io da otkrije sve njene tajne – po cenu da joj sru š i jedan odbrambeni zid za drugim. The premise immediately hooked me, but even with Asher continued pulling Henry off the beaten path, it still felt like nothing much really happened during the story, other than Henry realizing that he's bisexual. If someone asked me to come up with one fairly-interesting thing about Henry, I'd be hard-pressed to come up with that answer - apart from his penchant for finding himself on dates, with no knowledge that he's actually * on a date*. While evolutionary psychology professor Henry was sort of adorably clueless, unfortunately, he mostly just came across as boring to me.
